MINERAL SP – Crystalline Waterproofing Mortar
MINERAL SP is a cement-based crystalline waterproofing mortar designed to protect mineral substrates exposed to water pressure and back-pressure. Its active formulation penetrates the substrate and triggers a crystallization process that blocks pores while maintaining breathability, delivering long-term waterproofing and structural protection.
Suitable for interior and exterior use, MINERAL SP offers excellent adhesion, high abrasion resistance, and strong resistance to water infiltration. It is easy to apply—simply mix with water.
Key Benefits
- Crystalline waterproofing for pressure and back-pressure
- Excellent adhesion to mineral substrates
- Breathable, non-film-forming protection
- High resistance to water and abrasion
- Easy to mix and apply
- Suitable for new and renovated structures
Suitable Substrates
Concrete, mortar, brick, limestone, concrete block, and cement-based surfaces.
Typical Applications
Water tanks, basins, swimming pools (with ceramic finish), basement garages, parking structures, and foundation walls.
Application Method (Summary)
Mixing:
Mix 5 kg (11 lb) of MINERAL SP with 1 L (±0.25 L) of water using a mechanical mixer for approx. 3 minutes until smooth.
Let the mix rest 2–3 minutes, then remix before application.
Use within 60 minutes. Do not re-temper hardened material.
Surface Preparation:
Surfaces must be clean, sound, dust-free, and free of oils, laitance, rust, or coatings.
Repair cracks and voids with repair mortar.
Pre-dampen the substrate before application.
Minimum surface temperature: 10°C (50°F).
Application:
- Apply by brush or spatula at approx. 1 kg/m² (2.2 lb / 10.7 sq ft)
- For large areas, spray application is possible
- Allow to dry 24 hours before subsequent treatments
- Ensure no water pressure is present during application
Coverage
Approx. 1 kg per 1 m² (10.7 sq ft) depending on surface porosity.
