DESCRIPTION
Thermo-Shield® Tank Shield is a high-performance, energy-saving, flexible coating designed to reduce external surface temperatures and protect storage vessels. This non-toxic, environmentally friendly, water-based coating uses an acrylic resin system filled with evacuated ceramic microspheres to form a highly efficient thermal barrier.
It is washable, dirt-resistant, and offers excellent resistance to harsh chemicals. The coating is UL Class A fire-rated and provides a durable matte finish. A glossy finish can be achieved with Thermo-Shield® Clear Coat.

Resistant to 26 harsh chemicals, including 20% hydrochloric acid and 25% sulfuric acid.
COVERAGE & DRYING
Theoretical Coverage (2–3 coats):
- 7 m²/gal at 380 microns DFT (75 sq. ft./gal at 12 mils)
Drying Time (24°C / 75°F, 50% RH):
- Set: 45 minutes
- Recoat: 12 hours
- Through dry: 12 hours
APPLICATION

Coats: 2–3 coats (minimum 380 microns DFT; minimum 300 microns at any location)

Application: Roller or airless spray (brush for small areas only; 3 coats required)

Mixing: Low-speed mechanical agitation

Thinning: None required (up to 0.24 L / 1 cup water per gallon if needed)

- Tip: 0.031 in | Pressure: 2200–2500 psi | Fan: 60°
- Pump: ≥1 gal/min @ 2500 psi
- Remove filters/screens; prime with water

ADHESION & PREPARATION
Excellent adhesion to steel, aluminum, galvanized steel, concrete, wood, urethane foam, and more.
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of rust, oil, grease, and loose coatings. Use appropriate primers or rust inhibitors where required.
COLORS & FINISH
Available in white and custom colours. Darker colours reduce reflectivity.
