Bostik 70-03A Adhesive and Sealant
Description: Bostik 70-03A is a high-quality adhesive and sealant based on Silyl Modified Polymer (SMP), designed for creating elastic construction joints that require high strength.
Features:
- Solvent, isocyanate, and PVC-free
- High green strength: Excellent workability
- Good adhesion: Bonds well to many substrates without a primer
- Elasticity: Remains permanently elastic within temperatures from -40°F to 212°F (-40°C to 100°C)
- Neutral, odourless, and fast curing
- Paint compatibility: Compatible with most industrial paint or lacquer systems (alkyd resin and dispersion based)
- Paintable after skin forming (wet-on-wet): Does not influence the cure rate
Basic Uses:
- Easily extruded with a hand or air pressure gun at temperatures between 45°F to 100°F (5°C to 45°C)
- In sealing applications, should be tooled or finished within 10 minutes (70°F / 20°C @ 50% R.H.) with a spatula or putty knife
- In bonding applications, substrates should be assembled within 15 minutes (70°F / 20°C @ 50% R.H.) after applying 70-03A
- Recommended adhesive thickness: 0.062 in. or 1/16 in. (2mm)
- Paintable with most industrial paints 10 minutes after application; best adhesion if painted within 4 hours
Applications:
- Elastic bonding and sealing in buses, caravans, trains, and trucks
- Bonding and sealing of sunroof systems
- Bonding roofs on buses, trains, and trucks
- Bonding corner profiles of aluminum or polyester on trailers
- Bonding polyester parts on metal frames
- Bonding floor systems
- Sealing welded seams
Adhesion:
- Adheres well without primer on clean, dry, dust and grease-free substrates of aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, zinc, copper, brass, powder-coated metal, most lacquered metal surfaces, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP & FRP), painted and lacquered wood, etc.
- No adhesion on untreated polyethylene, polypropylene, and PTFE
Shelf Life:
- Can be stored for 18 months in a closed (unopened) cartridge (sausages 12 months) in a dry place at temperatures between 41°F and 86°F (5°C and 30°C).
Health and Safety Precautions:
- Please refer to the SDS for complete details.
